X1 is a full stack aircraft program.
There are no shortcuts to flying an airliner. By designing, building, testing and flying X1, Heart has developed the full-stack capabilities required to bring the ES-30 to market.

Clean-sheet design
Designed a clean-sheet aircraft configured around electric propulsion and electrified systems, taking a novel airframe from first principles to flight.

Flight sciences
Validated novel aircraft geometry through simulation and physical testing, developing and verifying aerodynamics in-house.

Components
Developed core components - designing and building structures, systems, and parts for electric aviation at commercial scale.

Systems integration
Integrated aircraft systems, bringing electric propulsion, batteries, power electronics, flight controls, and avionics together into a flying commercial-scale aircraft.

Structural test
Tested the airframe to its limits under real load conditions, verifying structural design, build quality, and materials integrity required for safe flight.

Propulsion test
Validated all-electric propulsion under flight mission conditions, verifying performance from motor to thrust and proving out propulsion architecture.

Flight test operations
Established flight test function, putting in place the people, procedures, and analytics required to safely fly and learn from Heart’s prototype aircraft.

Airworthiness
Earned FAA Special Airworthiness Certificate, establishing engagement model, compliance approach, and working relationship with the agency.

Flight
Completed X1’s first flight, bringing Heart’s full-stack aircraft-development capability into the air and launching a new era in commercial aviation.

Customer engagement
Activated airline customers, using the aircraft to deepen partner engagement, gather operational feedback, and accelerate commercial momentum.

Lower-cost air travel starts with a new kind of aircraft.
With X1, we are entering the electric age of commercial aviation. Electrification gives us the opportunity to build airliners with fundamentally lower operating costs — and to reset the economics of flying.
Heart's vision is abundant air travel: more affordable, frequent and cleaner flights to more destinations, operating from airports closer to where people live and work. X1 is the first step toward making that future real.
X1 is the proof. ES-30 is the product.
ES-30 is the 30-seat hybrid-electric regional aircraft X1 was designed to enable.
